This wine has increased in popularity over the past year.This is priced above average for red wine from Castilla La Manch. It is a pleasure to be around remarkable people like Kathy. Sauvignon Blanc Verdejo blends are a strong example of modern Spanish white winemaking. She did so with no expectation of reward or profit. Kathy took control of the situation, made alternate arrangements for us, and made sure our winery experience was above all expectations. They create a wide range of wine styles from their certified biodynamic vineyards that show respect for the traditions and biodiversity of the land. We booked our trip through a limo company that turned out to be disreputable. She literally turned this trip from disaster to joy. Going beyond the tasting experience, I would be remiss if I didn’t not mention the extraordinary graciousness of Kathy. And check out the tee shirts that complement the cool wine labels. If you love wine, or even a nice lunch with a scenic excursion, this is the place. The choices are numerous and some of the specialty labels are fun as well as delicious. The wine offering has expanded since our first visit. Our visit included a lunch in the winery’s restaurant as well as a wine tasting. This certified organic wine is a blend of equal parts Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, and here made into an orange wine via a week of. ![]() With this partnership, they were able to create a wine that beats the competition without sacrificing on quality.My family and I made our second excursion to this winery in the small town of Pahrump, NV, about an hour from Las Vegas. The other vineyard is officially named Olla del Monte (Cooking Pan in the Mountain), but is known locally as the Cuesta Colorá because of the colorful scarpland soils of chalky clay covered in a fine layer of pebbles that hold the day’s heat well into the night.įor the Gulp/Hablo, the extremely gulpable wines, they tapped Juan Antonio Ponce of Bodegas Ponce to make the wine. Entresendas benefits from the rich, alluvial soils, common to old river beds and perfect for the cultivation of grapes. One of the vineyards is named Entresendas (Between Paths) and sits within the dried river bed. The price has been stable over the past year. The Parra family works two large vineyards in La Mancha near the town of Las Messas (The Tables), totaling some 445 acres, or about 180 hectares. This is the second highest-priced wine produced from Sauvignon Blanc - Verdejo in Castilla La Mancha. They founded their property with the conviction to organically and biodynamically farm every vine under their care. The Parra family’s pursuit came from the devotion of the three brothers (Francisco, Javier, and Luis) to find a sense of place in their home of La Mancha. The wine is part of the importer’s Gulp/Halbo line of Spanish wines made of organic and biodynamic grapes from Spain’s central La Mancha region. All at a breezy 11% ABV, an orange for afternoon chilling. Native yeast fermentation, aged in steel tanks, bottled slightly hazy without any fining or filtering and only a tiny degree of sulfites. Certified biodynamically farmed grapes, therefore no pesticides or insecticides used in the farming. Aromatics of orange blossom and tropical jackfruit with moderately tannic dried citrus peels, tea and preserved apricots on the yeasty and textured plate. A blend of equal parts Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, a common combination for the white wines of the region, and here made into an orange wine via a week of maceration on the skins. ![]()
