Nestopia setup controller12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() I tried unsuccessfully to get USB Overdrive working so I dropped the eight bucks for GPC. You can download a shareware program called USB Overdrive (shareware | $20 | download) and map your controller to the keys associated with the various buttons in your emulator, or you can download GamePad Companion ($7.99) from the Mac App Store and do the same thing. It can be a bit awkward playing Super Mario with a keyboard but Nestopia allows you to use different input devices and even use your Xbox controller or. The automatic setup (User X Bind All) for each controller for every core prompts me to press every single input on the controller even though games like the NES only use the D-pad, Start, Select, B, and A. To do so, you’ve got a couple of options. The keyboard is great and all, but if you’ve got an old USB gamepad then you might as well use it. Getting your GamePad or Joystick to work with OSX Unplug, the re-plug in USB controller and wait for windows to recognize it. Download, install, and start loading your ROMs. It’s not as configurable as Nestopia, but it’s gaining on Nestopia in popularity and support.
